Dr. Shekh Mohammad Altafur Rahman is Assistant Dean and faculty member at the School of Global Studies, Thammasat University. He has his doctoral degree in Human Rights and Peace Studies, along with a Masters in Law and Masters in Human Rights and Social Development. Before joining the academic field Dr. Rahman served with several international development and human rights organizations for fifteen years across Asia and Pacific. As a lawyer and human rights practitioner he has initiated a number of platforms, which are quite functional till date. Dr. Rahman’s research area includes human security implementation, human rights mechanisms, democratization, inter-faith discourse, and global transition.
