Dr Nyunt Naing Thein graduated in clinical, public health and education fields at master level. Dr Naing has over 25 years of health systems management, refugee and migrant health implementation experiences in different organizations especially along the Thailand – Burma border. Dr. Naing possesses a broad range of clinical expertise, especially in health system development, basic primary health care in conflict situations, health promotion, community development, counseling, formal and non-formal education, monitoring and evaluation, and health worker capacity development. He has led multicultural and multi-disciplinary teams to address complicated refugee and migrant health needs in refugee camps, host community settings, urban areas and resettlement countries. Dr Naing was awarded “The Queen’s Service Medal (QSM”) (Community Services) in 2006 at New Zealand as a recommendation of his works as a founding member of the many community base organizations and volunteer for community based social organizations. Dr Naing was also award the “IRC Sarlo award” for 2011 to acknowledge his humanitarian works.
