International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR)

Wilson is currently the Country Program Coordinator for the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) in Myanmar.  He also serves as IIRR’s Specialist for Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Change Adaptation at the Regional Center for Asia.  Wilson has almost 20 years of experience in rural development, community mobilization, disaster risk reduction and building resilience in rural livelihoods. He specializes in participatory approaches in community development. He is a trained facilitator of Visualization in Participatory Programs (VIPP). Prior to joining IIRR, Wilson worked with the Agri-Aqua Development Coalition of Mindanao, the largest coalition of people’s organizations in Mindanao, the Philippines. He also served as the Senior Social Development Officer at Project Seahorse in Central Philippines. Wilson has a Masters degree in Environmental and Natural Resources Management from the University of the Philippines and undergraduate degree in Biology at the Ateneo de Davao University.
